JOOUST Students Selected Among Finalists for Prestigious AMR Shujaa Fellowship Program
JOOUST is proud to announce that a team of our students has been selected as one of the final 10 teams for the highly competitive AMR Shujaa Fellowship Program, a continental initiative aimed at empowering young innovators to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR) challenges within their communities.
This remarkable achievement follows a rigorous three-month review process that included multiple rounds of application screening and more than 25 team interviews. The fellowship attracted an exceptionally strong pool of applicants from across the region, making JOOUST’s selection a noteworthy accomplishment.
Throughout the evaluation process, our students demonstrated exceptional commitment, a clear vision for impact, and strong leadership potential, qualities that set them apart and earned them a place in the fellowship’s final cohort.
The AMR Shujaa Fellowship will provide the students with intensive training, mentorship, and hands-on learning experiences. The program begins with an induction session on Friday, 12th December, where fellows will be oriented on the structure, expectations, and opportunities available throughout the fellowship period. Participants will engage in activities such as course enrollment, interactive modules, collaborative discussions, webinars, and leadership training — all designed to strengthen their capacity to contribute to AMR solutions.
In addition to academic and professional development, the fellowship will offer platforms for networking and peer interaction, including a dedicated communication channel for announcements, discussions, and support.
JOOUST celebrates this milestone as a testament to the talent, hard work, and dedication of our students. Their selection underscores the University’s commitment to nurturing innovators who can contribute to sustainable health solutions both locally and globally.
We congratulate the team on this exceptional achievement and look forward to witnessing the growth, insights, and impact they will bring back to the JOOUST community through their participation in the AMR Shujaa Fellowship Program.
