ADVERTISEMENT FOR MASTERS OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURAL COMMODITY VALUE CHAIN MANAGEMENT AND MASTERS OF SCIENCE IN INTERNATIONAL FARM MANAGEMENT PROGRAMMES
Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) seeks to admit suitably qualified students for Master of Science in Agricultural Commodity Value Chain Management and Master of Science in International Farm Management for the academic year 2026/2027.
1. Master of Science in Agricultural Commodity Value Chain Management
The MSc in Agricultural Commodity Value Chain Management is a two-year degree programme offered with coursework and Thesis Research. The Programme is aimed at equipping students with advanced expertise in application-based agricultural management, preparing them to lead and innovate in the global agricultural industry, while fostering academic collaborations with partner institutions. Emphasis will be put on practical work, innovation, knowledge and skills transfer for income generation, employment creation, and stimulation of industrialization, and further studies.
Entry Requirements for Master of Science in Agricultural Commodity Value Chain Management
Candidates wishing to pursue a MSc degree in Agricultural Commodity Value Chain Management at JOOUST must meet the following requirements:
(i) Applicants must hold a First-Class Honours OR Second-Class Honours (Upper Division) Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in Agricultural Sciences and related disciplines or equivalent qualification from a university recognized by JOOUST Senate.
OR
(ii) Holders of a Second-Class Honours (Lower Division) Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University in Agricultural Sciences or related fields or an equivalent qualification from a university recognized by JOOUST Senate. Applicants must, in addition, provide evidence of at least two (2) years of relevant work or research experience.
(iii) In addition to the above, applicants must meet the specific requirements of the Master’s Programme as provided by the JOOUST Senate.
2. Master of Science in International Farm Management
The Master of Science in International Farm Management is a two-year Programme offered with coursework. The Programme is aimed at producing creative and innovative leaders with advanced multidisciplinary knowledge, technical skills and attitude for sustainable development and improvement of humanity in the twenty-first century and beyond. This is achieved through integrated training, research and community outreach in sustainable agriculture.
Entry Requirements for Master of Science in International Farm Management
Candidates wishing to pursue the Master of Science in International Farm Management at JOOUST must meet the following requirements:
(i) Applicants must hold a First-Class Honours OR Second-Class Honours (Upper Division) Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences and related disciplines or equivalent qualification from a university recognized by JOOUST Senate.
OR
(ii) Holders of a Second-Class Honours (Lower Division) Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Sciences and related fields or an equivalent qualification from a university recognized by JOOUST Senate. Applicants must, in addition, provide evidence of at least two (2) years of relevant work or research experience.
(iii) In addition to the above, applicants must meet the specific requirements of the Master’s Programme as provided by the JOOUST Senate.
3. Application and Admission Procedure
a) Application forms are available from the Director, Board of Postgraduate studies or University website (www.jooust.ac.ke) upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 3000/
b) Deposit the application fee at Co-operative Bank, Account No. 01129255709500, Siaya Branch or Equity Bank, Account No.0750294239156 Bondo Branch or KCB Bank, Account No. 1117122409 Bondo Branch or at any other branch of the three banks countrywide.
c) An applicant shall be admitted to only one degree programme at a time.
d) Admission shall be confirmed by a formal letter issued by the Director, Board of Postgraduate Studies.
