JOOUST Launches Jitume Digital Lab to Advance Digital Transformation

Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) has officially commissioned and launched the Jitume Digital Lab, marking a significant milestone in the University’s digital transformation agenda. The facility was commissioned by Vice Chancellor Prof. Emily Achieng Akuno and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic, Student Affairs and Research), Prof. Elijah Ateka, and was established through the Jitume Digital Enablement Programme with support from the Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA). Through the programme, JOOUST received 50 desktop computers, delivered and installed on 5 August 2026, expanding the University's computing capacity and strengthening access to digital learning resources. The Jitume Digital Lab will support digital skills development, technology enabled learning, innovation and student employability, while providing students and other beneficiaries with opportunities to build competencies relevant to Kenya’s growing digital economy. The commissioning underscores JOOUST’s commitment to strategic partnerships, digital transformation and the development of graduates equipped to contribute meaningfully to a technology-driven economy.
