Kilimanjaro Blind Trust Africa (KBTA)- a charitable trust committed to promoting inclusion in education and employment through digital Braille literacy, ICT and other skills for children and youth with visual impairments (VI) that  works across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Malawi through innovation & technology with access to quality education conducted a monitoring visit to JOOUST on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. The primary objective of this visit  was to assess the progress and utilization of the Orbit Readers and other digital assistive devices which the organization had donated to the university in 2024, provide support and ascertain the condition of the devices. The KBTA team was led by Mr. Benson and William Gichia. They were received by Prof. Charles Omoke- The Head of Disability Support Unit in the University. The team had a session with students with visual Impairment as well as members of Academic staff from the Department of Special Needs Education and Early Childhood Development.
